Current Information:Age-39 Born-Hackney Potijze Burial Ground Cemetery, Belgium Between 13th September and 21st September, 19215, 7th King’s Royal Rifle Corps, 41 Brigade, 14th Division were in the front line of the Kaaie defences in the Ypres salient. The battalion diary records that this was a period of heavy shelling of the German positions which inevitably provoked a response by their artillery and caused a number of casualties, especially on 21st September, the day 7th King’s Royal Rifle Corps were relieved and moved back to Poperinghe. |
